An exceptional vintage cheetah taxidermy mannequin by French taxidermist Yves Gaumetou. Originally created for traditional taxidermy, this unique sculptural piece combines natural history, French craftsmanship and striking decorative appeal.

The cheetah is captured in a beautiful, natural seated pose, with one front leg extended and its head raised attentively. Its elegant silhouette, elongated neck and authentic aged patina make it a remarkable statement piece.

The original plaster surface displays wonderful signs of age, with layers of faded yellow paint and a beautifully weathered finish. One ear is missing and one front paw is damaged. The tail is made from a flexible garden hose, a common feature of traditional taxidermy mannequins.
