Antique French Terracotta Cooking Pot with Lion Heads

This antique French terracotta cooking pot is a beautiful example of traditional country pottery from the early 20th century. Handcrafted from earthenware and finished with a warm honey glaze, it features decorative lion head handles that give the piece its distinctive character.

Originally intended for slow cooking in a wood-fired oven, this pot has developed an attractive patina through decades of use. Today it makes a wonderful decorative object for a farmhouse kitchen, country interior or collection of antique French pottery.

The cooking pot remains sturdy and displays beautifully. The lid has several old hairline cracks and chips, while the base has an old repaired crack that is visible from the inside. These age-related imperfections are shown in the photographs and have been reflected in the asking price.
